GM 140 AS

GM 140 AS

Milling machine for drainage – With the GM 140 AS, Lingener Baumaschinen has now closed the last gap in its portfolio and launched a medium tractor-mounted milling machine as an auger model. But what advantages does this machine offer compared to a conveyor belt version and where is the best area of application for this machine?

Let’s start with the most important feature of this machine, namely the special discharge method. Especially in rural areas, where moist and rather soft soil is to be expected, an auger can show its advantage over a conveyor belt. Since the auger does not first have to transport the soil far upwards in order to then carry it away on the conveyor belt, the auger saves time in this subsoil.

Wear is also significantly lower than with a conveyor belt tiller on this type of ground. The reason for this is that moist, muddy soil tends to stick to the conveyor belt and cause abrasion. This problem does not exist with the auger. The auger simply throws the soil away to both sides of the trench without having to move it much further.

Which brings us to the second point, namely use in the drainage area. Here, auger discharge is clearly advantageous. The simple reason for this is that the excavated soil is usually transported back into the trench during drainage. This is sustainable and saves additional backfill material and therefore money. As the soil is only deposited at the edge of the trench, refilling the trench is much more convenient and quicker than with a conveyor belt machine, which deposits your excavated material further away from the trench. This machine is therefore ideal for anyone who works in the drainage sector and has rather damp soil.

Of course, such a tiller also needs sufficient power to be able to work in cohesive soil. This is why the GM 140 AS is mechanically driven via a tapping point. This ensures constant maximum power, which is very important for the penetration power of the chain. The rest of the machine’s design follows the usual pattern of the 140 series, which is why the machine can perform as usual. Spare parts and additional equipment are also largely transferable from the GM 140 AF and are therefore almost always in stock and can therefore be delivered quickly, so that no work stoppages are too great.
